AUTO ACCIDENTS & WHIPLASH
According to the American Chiropractic Association, one of the most common causes of neck pain is whiplash resulting from a car accident.
A sudden forced movement of the head or neck in any direction and the resulting “rebound” in the opposite direction is known as whiplash. The sudden “whipping” motion injures the surrounding and supporting tissues of the neck and head.
Muscles react by tightening and contracting, creating muscle fatigue, which can result in pain and stiffness. Severe whiplash can also be associated with injury to the intervertebral joints, discs, ligaments, muscles, and nerve roots.
MAJOR MEDICAL INSURANCE
Chiropractic care is included in most health insurance plans, including major medical plans such as workers’ compensation, Medicare, Kaiser Permanente, Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, Aetna, Ambetter, UnitedHealthcare, etc.
It is often also made available to all active-duty members of the armed forces, eligible veterans, and federal employees.
MEDICARE
As the population ages, older adults turn to geriatric chiropractic care to enhance their physical and mental health and overall well-being.
One reason for the increased popularity of such services is that when people get older (65 years plus), their bodies start to develop more spinal problems, leading to problems with their joints, ligaments, nerves, bones, and discs.
